Stephen Voss is a photographer and photojournalist who lives in Washington, DC and makes a living taking portraits of people for magazines and newspapers.

 

We recorded this episode shortly after the Nov 2020 Presidential Election and since then Stephen has continued to document the people and events in Washington, including the January attack on the US Capitol.

A toddler walks alone towards the giant statue inside the Lincoln Memorial monument in Washington DC. The photo is in stark black and white, and the contrast between light and dark is in line with the size contrast between the tiny toddler and the huge statue of the Former President.

Irving Penn - was an American photographer known for his fashion photography, portraits, and still lifes. Penn's career included work at Vogue magazine, and independent advertising work for clients including Issey Miyake and Clinique.
